NPA in Supply Chain Operations (level 5) provides learners with the opportunity to develop knowledge and understanding of what a supply chain is; how a supply chain operates and the roles and responsibilities of individuals within the supply chain.  Freight logistics is a major industry sector in Scotland and this course will allow learners to develop skills to increase their career opportunities.  The programme will develop practical knowledge, employability skills, confidence, collaborative working, problem solving, self-motivation and communication skills.

During the programme learners will be encouraged to think about supply chains for any purchases that they make; they will examine a product that they might consider manufacturing for sale at a trade fair.  Learners will investigate current industry standards and policies through research and will gain insight into the supply chain through visits or work experiences to local employers.

The programme will run initially at the Skills Centre, with progression to West Lothian College during the latter part of the course.  This gives learners the opportunity to experience a different learning environment and develop life skills.
